The Bucket List by Emily Ruben (EPUB)
Leah thought that the turmoil in her life had come to an end. That is, until the boy-next-door who’s just moved in, turns out to be none other than her old childhood best friend, Damon. Rekindling their friendship, the two become inseparable and life seems perfect, until Leah learns a tragic secret; Damon is terminally ill and has only one more year to live.
The Bucket List
Leah and Damon decide to embark on an adventure to have the time of their lives and cross out every to-do on their ‘Bucket List’. With the clock ticking and time precious, will they be able to complete every goal before time runs out?
This book had me smiling, giggling, reminiscing and crying. It is brilliantly written, with well formed characters that are relatable and likeable. I found the characters to be sweet and genuine. I felt connected to Damon and Leah to be fun, funny, seriously in love and strong together. There was gentleness about these characters that I appreciated.
I have deepened my own sense of purpose in life and I have broken my heart sharing in Leah and Damon’s experiences. It takes true talent to touch a reader the way this book touched me. This book is just simply amazing. Emily Ruben is a new author to me, and this will not be my last book by her. I am at a lost for words. Parts of it is cheesy, but you will laugh and you will definitely cry. I highly recommend this book.
